A good chopping/serving board is indispensable in the kitchen – and even better when it can also be used for serving. It has a lively grain and a warm glow that suits any kitchen. Use the board to serve tapas, bread or snacks – or let it stand on display when not in use.

Douron – the natural choice
The series consists of functional kitchen products made primarily from oiled oak. It has a simple and warm expression, and the natural grain of the wood gives each product its own unique character.
Give the wood a good start
Wood is a living material that naturally changes over time. Some people appreciate the warm patina that develops slowly, while others prefer to maintain its original look – this can be preserved with the right care and maintenance. Before first use, we recommend saturating the wood with a neutral-tasting cooking oil – such as grapeseed oil. Make sure the wood is completely dry before you begin. Rub in the oil with a clean cloth, let it soak in for at least 6 hours, and then wipe off any excess. Wait 24 hours before using the product.
Good advice for daily use
Wood should not be washed in the dishwasher – the high heat and humidity can cause it to crack. Instead, wash the item by hand with mild soap right after use, dry it with a tea towel, and let it air dry completely before storing. If the surface becomes rough or develops small scratches, it can easily be sanded with fine sandpaper once fully dry. Wipe with a well-wrung cloth, let it dry – and finish with a fresh layer of oil. If the wood develops an unpleasant odour, you can rub half a lemon and some coarse salt onto the surface and then clean it as described above.
