Umfors is created by the designer Malin Lundmark. This luminaire is a tribute to a village in the Swedish Lappland mountains that is very close to Malin's heart. A village where the Umeå River originates, where the mountains enclose the lake Över-Uman and where the stream sing. "When I'm there, I become one with nature and time stands still", says Malin. The lamp is made of a mixture consisting of sandstone and polyresin, which gives it a vibrant character. The round top part symbolizes the ice in Umfors, which often in winter becomes 1 meter thick and the lower part symbolizes the mountains. The lamp is IP44-classified, which means that it can withstand water splashes and larger particles such as sand grains. Hence, it is well suited outdoors and provides pleasant mood lighting."
