The olive wood is handcrafted and treated with sunflower oil. Olive wood is very dense and has narrow pores, so it does not absorb any odors. It does not scratch non-stick coatings, it tolerates acids, hot fat and dishwashing detergent. The olive wood is made from trees that are up to 500 years old and no longer bear fruit.
