App Tracking Technologies Notice

Boozt Fashion AB (556710-4699) uses tracking technology to provide you with a safer and smoother experience when you are using Boozt and Booztlet iOS and Android apps that were downloaded from Apple’s App Store or Google’s Play Store. Such tracking technology may collect information about you and your device, including your personal data. This page describes the tracking technology used and what kind of information is collected and processed.

Boozt Fashion AB is the controller of your personal data processed when you are using Boozt or Booztlet iOS or Android apps. Our processing of your personal data is subject to the rules of the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR), ePrivacy Directive, national data protection legislation, and supplementary guidelines, such as opinions from the European Data Protection Board and Supervisory Authorities in the EU. For further information on the processing of your personal data, please see Privacy Policy.

What is tracking technology?
Similar to how most websites use cookie technology to store specific user information, mobile apps downloaded from platforms like the App Store or Play Store employ similar tools known as Software Development Kits (SDKs). These SDKs facilitate the delivery of various functionalities and services within the app. While some of these technologies are integrated by third-party providers, others are implemented by the app developers themselves. The functionalities enabled by these tools are significant for both users, such as third-party login services, and developers, like app crash analysis.

Although these technologies are essential for providing certain features of the apps, they also have the capability to gather data related to user preferences, browsing patterns, and device specifications. For instance, when you interact with our apps, it may collect certain data points regarding your usage habits. This information is valuable for us as it enables improvements in our services and allows us to customize content to better align with your preferences. Examples of such data may include which features of the app you use most frequently or the views of specific pages in the app.

What tracking technologies do we use in our apps?
When you use Boozt and Booztlet iOS and Android apps, information is stored locally on your device using SDK or similar technology. Subject to your consent to the technology that is not marked as necessary, this technology may be placed by us or by a third party acting on our behalf. It remains on your device until you change your consent preferences or until the app is uninstalled, or until the data is removed by us or the third party.

The tracking technology used in our apps is categorized based on its purpose and functionality.

Necessary technology
The necessary tracking technology is used in order to enable the functions that are essential for the app to function properly and for us to be able to provide our services through the app. Necessary technology enables, for example, third-party authentication service (e.g. when you sign-in the app using a third-party service like Google, Apple or Facebook), a push-notification delivery service, as well as an integration with third-party payment service providers.

The personal information that may be collected relates to remembering the country of the store you would like to browse or shop from, as well as the preferred fashion category and authentication token that is stored to be able to keep you logged in.

Technology used to monitor app’s performance
Technology that monitors our app’s performance is instrumental in our ongoing efforts to improve app’s functionality. These tools are essential for detecting and addressing any issues related to speed, responsiveness, or stability, ultimately guaranteeing a smooth and satisfying user experience.

Our apps use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring to receive access to statistics on app performance, enabling us to promptly diagnose and address any stability issues that may arise. By being aware about app crashes and the root cause for such crashes, our app developers can swiftly implement fixes to improve the overall stability of our app. In the same vein, a performance tracking tool is used to identify areas for optimization, ultimately enhancing the speed and responsiveness of our app for users. While most of the data collected via this technology cannot be attributed to you individually, some of the data points collected and processed via the Firebase SDK contain a user identifier, device and operating system information.

We use Datadog in the similar vein to monitor our app’s reliability and performance. It allows us to detect general anomalies, troubleshoot errors, and optimize performance and stability, resulting in a smoother and more efficient user experience. Datadog helps us to search for root cause for any anomalies, and while we usually rely on aggregated statistics, Datadog also collects individual user interactions in our app in real time which we can then use in error analysis to understand what caused such an error. Therefore, observe user actions in the app, page load times and whether any errors are present. Your personal data such as app session id, device and operating system information, IP address, location and time spent in the app may be collected.

Technology used for analytical purpose
These trackers enable us to gather insights into user interactions and activity within our apps. This data allows us to understand our customers and users better and identify areas for improvement of user experience. While these trackers may collect your personal data, not all of the information collected through analytical technology is considered personal, as many analytic events are gathered in an aggregated way where you as a user cannot be identified. Such technologies are placed on your device only after we receive your consent. We use the following technologies for analytics:

For this purpose, we use Firebase Analytics that allows us to track various metrics, including user engagement, retention, and conversion rates, through Google Analytics. This data provides valuable insights into how our users interact with different features of our app, enabling us to make informed decisions to enhance the user experience. Personal data related to interactions with the app, such as page views, clicks, time spent and traffic sources are collected.

Similar analytical data about product impressions and customer journey in our apps is collected through Snowplow. For example, information like page, product and banner views, as well as what products have been added to the shopping cart is collected.

We use AVO Inspector as a quality assurance tool to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our analytics data by detecting and resolving data quality issues. AVO does not store any personal data of users, instead, the user properties are anonymised which means that no individual users can be identified. Non-personal parameters, such as country, device and operating system information may be collected for the purpose of quality assurance of the analytics employed by us.

If you enable push-notifications, we may collect statistics through Salesforce Analytics. Information such as whether and when the push-notification was opened may be collected. Collecting and analyzing this information allows us to understand how successful our marketing efforts are to mobile users and validate whether our products, services and the communication is relevant and interesting.

Additionally, we use Firebase A/B Testing tool, enabling experiments with how the content is displayed on the website to optimize user experience. A/B Testing allows us to test changes to the app's UI, features, or engagement campaigns to see how they impact key metrics such as revenue and retention before rolling them out widely. A/B testing does not track individual users, but rather collects aggregated usage statistics on a group of users that tested the feature.

Technology used to facilitate advertising on social media
Our apps are using third-party tracking technology which may gather information from the user’s engagement and interactions with our app and use this information to facilitate advertising outside our platforms. Namely, our apps are currently using Facebook to facilitate advertising on Meta platforms. Facebook tracker is only installed to your device if you provide your consent. Examples of personal information that is collected are your email, device information, product impressions, as well as cart of purchase data can be processed.

If you have provided your consent, you may come across our advertisements on Meta platforms (for example, Facebook or Instagram). Not all of the advertising that reaches you is based on your personal information. For example, some campaigns do not target you as an individual, but are rather aimed at a broader group of Facebook users instead. For example, we may tailor our advertising campaigns based on geographical location of an intended audience, thereby presenting region-specific advertising that would be relevant to you.

How to withdraw consent or control the use of tracking technology in our apps?
You are always able to withdraw your consent to the use of non-essential tracking technology in our apps. Note that you cannot control the use of the necessary tracking technology due to the fact that the use of this technology is necessary to guarantee proper functioning of the app. In case you don’t want to be subject to necessary tracking technology, you should stop using our app and remove it from your device.

The first time you will be asked to set preferences for tracking technology is when you open the app for the first time. You may then withdraw or change your preferences to the use of tracking technologies at any time in your profile by clicking “Manage Tracking”. The preferences can be set regardless of whether you use the app as a guest without logging in, or whether you have logged in into your account.

Please note that the use of tracking technology is connected to your individual device, rather than your account on boozt.com or booztlet.com, which means that if you are browsing from different devices (such as phone and tablet) you should manage or withdraw your consent on each of such devices.
